The George G and Alva Smith Foundation invested in Hill County with a $13,000 grant.
The City of Hillsboro and The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce are so grateful for the Smith Foundation’s Grant. This project was moved forward by their generosity.
City Manager, Frank Johnson and Judge Justin Lewis worked tirelessly to create a plan and delivered a Christmas to remember. There were so many volunteers that worked and worked to make Christmas Under the Stars a success. Thank you to Natasha Sawyer, Nicole Crain, Marilyn Hill, Ronnie Earp, Rhett Riddell, Marilyn Kerr, Jim Dalglish, Arthur Mann, Chris Moore, NTAC, ONCOR, HILCO, City and County workers, Dave Mojica and the Optimist Club. Two others that were seen making contribution were Marilyn Johnson and George Kerr (I believe there assistance was requested).
The Lighted Christmas Parade and Lighting of the Hill County Courthouse brought smiles and cheers from the crowd. Thank you to the Smith Foundation and Hillsboro Christmas Committee for transforming a vision into a night to remember.
