Hill College professor invited to 47th presidential inauguration

Dr. Chang, Director of Choirs & Assistant Professor of Vocal Music, was invited to attend the 47th presidential inauguration as a next-generation leader for Korean Americans in the United States!

A member of both the Federation of Korean American Associations (FKAA) and the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC), Dr. Chang was recently appointed as Chief of the Next Generation Committee for FKAA. He serves as an advisor for the Dallas Chapter of PUAC. He has been involved in both organizations for the last two years.
In addition to attending the inauguration on January 20, 2025, Dr. Chang was invited to do a solo performance of both the South Korean and American national anthems on January 19 at the welcome banquet for the Federation of Korean American Associations in Washington, D. C,. as part of the inauguration welcoming ceremonies.
“I am honored to have been invited to perform both the Korean and American national anthems at one of the welcome banquets in celebration of the 47th presidential inauguration. I am thankful to have the opportunity to represent the Korean-American community and the Hill College community at this historic event,” said Dr. Chang.
Dr. Chang has been a faculty member at Hill College since 2019. Prior to joining the college, he served in both the South Korean and United States militaries, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2018.
The FKAA serves Korean Americans in the United States by advocating for their rights and promoting positive relations with other ethnic groups in the U.S. The organization regularly holds events for Korean-American associations to build relationships and enhance the quality of life for Korean Americans.
PUAC is a constitutional institution that was established in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea to create and implement policies on democratic and peaceful unification on a bipartisan and pan-national level.
